This listed family house is located in a rural area on the outskirts of a village in the south of Holland. The dream of the owners (parents with two children) was an extension of 60 m2 and a new parking garage. The challenge in the brief was to incorporate these wishes to fit in the rural surroundings while maintaining the monumental status of the building. After consultation with the council and clients it was decided to use tongue and groove planking on the façade, combined with a zinc roof. Glass opens up the extension to the existing construction.
